Indiana Jones.
I loved the first film:Raiders of the Lost Ark,way back in the early 80's. It was a fantastic film, having a start, middle and end.It had a lot of great action, and best of all,a damsel bound and gagged scene, played brilliantly by the lovely Karen Allen.
It's only a brief scene, but I liked it. I think Karen has performed a couple more scenes in her acting career.

In the second instalment:The Temple of Doom, there was nothing in it for me at all.The only thing they showed, was the lead actress: Kate Capshaw, who certainly screams a lot,and is showing tied face down in a cage, just about to be sacrificed for the bad guys into an inferno. Fortunately, the good guys save her.I have to admit, I really enjoyed the first 15-20 minutes of the film, and in general, it's okay.
However, it doesn't beat the first film, not by a mile.

The third offering:The Last Crusade, did nothing for me at all.No damsel in distress scenes getting bound and gagged. There was nothing at all in it,and that was a massive disappointment to me. A big thumbs down.

Nothing really offered either in the fourth film:Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls. I did enjoy it, so much better than the third film.I loved Cate Blanchett's performance as one of the baddies. She's one of my favourite actresses. The film wasn't a big hit with everyone, but I liked it. So there.

Now,onto the most recent film:The Dial of Destiny. I haven't seen it yet,but reading the plot, I don't think I'm going to watch this one.Harrison Ford is getting on a bit now,so it's either he's replaced by a stunt performer or CGI,when there's an action sequence. When I read the plot though, I wasn't very pleased to see the lead actress:Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who appears to save Indy constantly throughout the whole damsel film.Sorry, not my cup of tea at all.PC writing again perhaps? Another big thumbs down from me on this one.
