Favourite Military Battles:Battle of Carrhae 53 BC.

When I was younger, I was a huge fan reading about the Roman Empire, but in later years, I was sickened and appalled by how cruel and brutal they really could be. Some of them are forever etched in immortality, although not all for the right reasons.

One of them was known as Marcus Lucinuis Crassus, probably the richest men in ancient Rome at that time. He had actually defeated the third slave rebellion led ɓy the gladiator:Spartacus in 73BC,although he never got the credit for it.Something that really infuriated him.

Crassus was always hungry for military glory, and his enormous wealth funded his invasion of Parthia, a rival empire to Rome. He led his legions in an unprovoked invasion there, determined to conquer it,hoping to increase his prestige and wealth. I actually found it very satisfying that he utterly failed in these hopes, and Crassus ultimately paid the price for his own greed.

Good riddance.
