Battle of Bannockburn 1314.
In this famous battle, Robert the Bruce successfully defeated an English army, led by King Edward the Second. It was another complete disaster for the English, where everything went wrong for Edward. The battle was actually an opportunity for Edward,to improve his standing with his barons.Unfortunately for him,the Scots had fully worked out their tactics, and their plan worked brilliantly, sending the English into full panicked retreat. The Scots massacred many of their hated enemy, although the Bruce was merciful to several English barons captured, treating them to dinner afterwards. Yet,I don’t think the ordinary rank and file would have fared much better. In actual fact, most of Edward's army successfully withdrew, but the day belonged to the Scots, and it largely won them their freedom from the much despised English.
The video's really good.
